Dr. Agwu Prince
Prince Agwu is a Lecturer at the Department of Social Work, University of Nigeria, and a Research Fellow at the Health Policy Research Group, also at the University of Nigeria. He holds a First Class in Social Work from the University of Nigeria, and a Masters in Social Policy and Social Work from the same university. Prince holds a PhD in Social Policy and a Commonwealth Alumnus of the University of Dundee, United Kingdom. He has published in several international and local journals. He is the first African Section Editor of Social Work and Social Sciences Review and an Academic Editor with PLoS ONE. He is currently a member of the Editorial Board of the International Journal of Public Health, indexed by the Clarivate Analytics, and as well holds editorial memberships and reviewer positions in some other indexed international and home journals. His research niches are in the areas of social policy and social determinants of health, and he has worked remarkably in health sector corruption, urban health, health system policy, primary healthcare system, migration/human trafficking, and education policy. Prince is a part of several donor-funded studies by DFID, SOAS-ACE, Bill and Melinda Gates, WHO, US Department of State, Medical Research Council, etc., and a lead investigator in some of these studies. He is the communication focal person for the Africa Health Observatory Platform, Nigeria’s National Centre. Prince has published remarkably in refereed journals and is currently listed among the top-500 scholars in Nigeria by Sci-Val.
